Evicting a Section 8 tenant?

I'm ready to close escrow in a short sale property in California, the only problem is that the landlord rents the property with Section 8 tenants. Can I evict them when I take possession of the house. The current owner already gave them a 30 day notice, but they are in a process of getting a voucher from their advisory. What can I do in this situation?
