Are any Republican "ideas" on fixing Social Security and Medicare to be distrusted with their record on them?

Why don't we take the $50 from the neighbor (Repbulcians) and take back the money he has already paid his contractor that will be cutting down the tree and the contractor who wants to be selling the overpriced firewood (insurance companies) and buy some really good, but very inexpensive fertilizer and save the tree?
