How do I get rid of scars on my arm?

I used to self mutilate (I don't say cut because I never used a knife). I would dig my nail into my arm and repeatedly drag it in a diagonal line until it looked like a scrape, it would sting and then scab over in a couple days until i picked off the scab until it healed. As a result I have three scars on my arm that are slightly darker than my skin tone that have been there for 4 months plus. and i'd like to get rid of them. They have faded a little bit over time but I would like them completely gone if possible. (Its a part of my life that I really want to put behind me, and the scars remind me of it.) Any remedies on how to get rid of these things? I've heard Bio oil works?
