How can i get my own worms for fishing?

i dont wanna pay $5 for a bag of fishing worms to catch trout and a lake near me yet i wanna catch fish since everybodys catching fish on worms there. tonight im going to clear a spot in my field and put some grass clippings there and when its dark im going to go and look for worms but im not to into going out late at night all the time to go and get some worms. is there anyway i can just get worms in the morning with? and please dont tell me to just dig in the ground and pick the worms cause the worms with that are way to tiny and do not work for me
